New League Prizes for Everyone!

IPM has made some new changes to the league prizes and now ANY league member can win cash prizes! Members who signed up at the poker room through IPM will still get a little more, but ANY member will be rewarded with cash for finishing in the top 3 at the end of the month.

New prize structure for the Pitbull league:

Any league member will win the following prizes: 1st place will receive $40, 2nd place will receive $25 and 3rd place will receive $15. If a winner signed up at Pitbull through IPM, the player will receive the cash prize + an extra bonus prize of $20 (regardless of position).

New prize structure for the Carbon league:

The 3 winners will receive cash prizes and two coupons to play in any $11 buy-in satellite. If the member signed up at Carbon through IPM, the player will receive the following prizes: $50 for 1st place, $25 for 2nd place and $10 for 3rd place. If the member didn't sign up at Carbon through IPM, the player will receive the following prizes: $25 for 1st place, $15 for 2nd place and $5 for 3rd place.

$100 VIP Freeroll at VC Poker

The featured poker room for the month of March is VC Poker. IPM will have a $100 VIP Freeroll on Sunday March 30th at 20:00 Server Time (GMT).

During March, you can become a VIP member by playing in any of the IPM league buy-in tournaments. IPM has money added buy-ins every Thursday at 14:00 EST at Carbon and every Sunday at 14:00 EST at Pitbull. If you played in any of those buy-ins during March, make a post in the VIP Freeroll Announcement thread with the following info:

Your username at the poker room (Carbon or Pitbull)
The date when you played the buy-in

You will then get VIP status and you will receive the password for the $100 freeroll at VC Poker!

League Changes Starting in March

The IPM League is continually gaining popularity thanks to the great weekly tournaments and league rankings. This is good news for all members because it means we can continue to run these great events and slowly increase tournament prize pools and league prizes. However, it also means more and more players want to join each week. The freeroll tournaments are starting to reach a number of entrants which makes the games less fun for everyone. Even worst, the passwords are being shared with too many non-members (especially for the Carbon freerolls). The last thing I want is for the freerolls to become full of all-in donkeys. I want these games to be a good competition between great players, and I know the league definitely has some great players!

In order to maintain the quality of league games, the freerolls will be restricted only to registered league members. This will take effect starting in March for the Carbon freerolls. Such a feature is currently not available at Pitbull Poker, but they're working on it and the Pitbull freerolls will also be restricted to league members only as soon as it's possible. In order to play in the Carbon league freerolls, players now need to be registered as league members. The list of league members has already been sent for the March league and members have been awarded the IPM Entry Coupon. A password is still needed to register and all passwords can be found in the Tournament Passwords forum as usual, but players will now also need the coupon to register. New league members will have to wait until they receive the coupon before they can play in the Carbon freerolls. I will try to update the list about once a week. All league buy-ins will only need a password as before.

There are also changes to the league prizes starting in March. For the Pitbull league, only players who signed up at Pitbull through the IPM site will be eligible to win the cash prizes. The 1st place will receive $50, 2nd place will receive $30 and 3rd place will receive $20, but only if the player is tracked to IPM. For the Carbon league, the 2 $11 buy-in coupons will still be awarded to any winning player, but only players who signed up at Carbon through the IPM site will be eligible to win the cash prizes. The 1st place will receive $50, 2nd place will receive $25 and 3rd place will receive $10, but only if the player is tracked to IPM. For both leagues, all players can still win tournament money and earn points for the standings.

I hope this will ensure the IPM League stays competitive and, most importantly, it remains fun for all members!
